With the final months of 2022 upon us, we can already take a look at what 2023 will bring us in terms of interior trends.
In the living trends of 2023 we also see pronounced interior trends in the field of paint. A white wall is no longer acceptable. We create atmospheric corners, by extending the color of the wall into the ceiling. In this way, a form of security is created. Even the frames and doors are not painted in the standard RAL colors such as white and anthracite, but are given a special accent color or a shade darker than the wall, creating a tone-on-tone effect. On the walls we see artistic expressions in the form of sharp lines, geometric shapes and circles.
There are actually 5 different styles at the center of next year’s trends and they are the following;
Scandinavian
Minimalist Modern
Bohemian
Maritime
Art Deco
Scandinavian
A Scandinavian interior is airy, light and timeless. The atmosphere exudes tranquility and harmony, the motto “Form Follows Function” is central. Furniture is comfortable and minimalist in form. Often made of ash or beech wood combined with soft textiles. The trend can be recognized by the harmony in the basic elements and in the use of color. Many soft and fresh shades are used, as the need for light is great due to the dark winter period in the North.
Minimalist modern
The shapes are sleek, materials sober and colors subdued. Functionality and comfort are main core values. We are looking for a safe home haven where we are less stressed and can get rid of all the stimuli we face throughout the day.
In the coming years, we will cut out ‘non-essential’ foreign trips less and less often, and traveling to the office will also be replaced by working from home. As a result, the home office will play an increasingly dominant role within interior design.
Bohemian
Artistic style with a wink. Boho has two versions. Colorful with a mix of different types of furniture or aesthetic and elegant with natural tones and warm woods with a red undertone and ton sur ton. Trend can be recognized by elements from exotic places; wooden ornaments, fringes, animal motifs, shells and feathers.
Maritime
This living style will capture the imagination of many. Colors such as blue, turquoise and white dominate and are combined with weathered wooden elements with a story. We need peace and oxygen and we create this through the application of the color blue and the use of fresh plants. On the wall, panels are applied with mussels or other shell species.
Art Deco
Within this style we see mainly classical elements of high quality, rich colors such as deep purple and royal blue as well as geometric shapes. In addition, lush prints, mirrored surfaces and gold and silver accents characterize this style. For example, choose designer lamps with gold leaf. Within the Art Deco movement we also see foreign influences from Africa, South America and Asia.
